Alchemy: A Visual Essay at Weigh Ahead Gallery Dunblane (2022)This exhibition is a painter's interpretation of the theme of Alchemy explored in a series of small paintings, works on paper and mixed media to form an intimate and meditative response from the viewer.
The subject was inspired in part by the Leighton Library which the artist has visited over decades for research on this and other esoterica housed in rare books.
Utilising found, preowned and vintage materials including obsolete paint and old brushes and readapting frames she hopes to share her studio practice of reusing and recycling, a well known practice by many painters, and one in line with the purpose of the shop below the gallery.
